The lab harnesses the power of Big Data to understand the role of traditional and social media in the current challenges to democracies across the world. Utilizing cutting-edge computational text analysis, we explore how citizens, journalists, and politicians spread, react, and process information in the digital era. The lab focuses on questions related to political polarization, online incivility and hostility, decreasing political trust, selective exposure, and other political and social phenomena.
